‘The U.S. military has
officially banned the gospel of Jesus Christ. As crazy as that sounds, it
is actually true. In a written statement, the Pentagon told
Fox News that "religious proselytization is not permitted within the
Department of Defense" and that "court martials and non-judicial
punishments are decided on a case-by-case basis and it would be inappropriate
to speculate on the outcome in specific cases". And a consultant
that has been brought in to help the Pentagon develop new policies on religious
tolerance says that sharing the gospel with someone else is like "rape"
and that he would like to see "hundreds of prosecutions to stop this
outrage". His name is Mikey Weinstein, and he is the president of
the Military Religious Freedom Foundation. In the past, he has described
Christians as "human
monsters" and "enemies
of the United States Constitution". He says that sharing the
gospel in the military is "sedition
and treason" and should be punished as such. Why in the world
would such a man be brought in to advise the Pentagon about religious
tolerance? Sadly, all of this is just part of a larger trend of animosity
by the U.S. military toward Christians and the gospel.
Once upon a time, faith had a
very prominent place in the U.S. military. But now it is rapidly becoming
one of the most anti-Christian institutions in the entire country.
I would like to know who
decided to bring in one of the most rabid atheists in America to help establish
new policies for religion in the military. Just check out what Mikey
Weinstein told Fox
News the other day...
“If a member of the military
is proselytizing in a manner that violates the law, well then of course they
can be prosecuted,” he said. “We would love to see hundreds of prosecutions to
stop this outrage of fundamentalist religious persecution.”
He compared the act of
proselytizing to rape.
“It is a version of being
spiritually raped and you are being spiritually raped by fundamentalist
Christian religious predators,” he told Fox News.
Telling someone about Jesus is
like raping them?
Weinstein also says that
Christians that talk to others about their faith in the military are
"die-hard enemies" of the Constitution...
"We MUST vigorously
support the continuing efforts to expose pathologically anti-gay, Islamaphobic,
and rabidly intolerant agitators for what they are: die-hard enemies of the
United States Constitution. Monsters, one and all."
Well, what is typically done
to "die-hard enemies of the United States Constitution" that are
guilty of "treason"?
Traditionally, treason carried
with it a death sentence. Under common law, that included "drawing,
hanging, beheading, and quartering".
So precisely what is Mikey
Weinstein proposing should be done with members of the U.S. military that share
their faith in Jesus with others?
Weinstein's anti-Christian
tirades are reminiscent of the kinds of things that
were said by Hitler and other Nazi leaders during their reign of terror in
Germany.
For instance, the head of the
Hitler Youth, Boldur von Schirach, once made the
following statement...
“Destruction of Christianity
was explicitly recognized as a purpose of the National Socialist Movement”
Frighteningly, there seems to
be just as much hatred behind the things that Weinstein is saying. The
following is from a recent Breitbart
report...
“Today, we face incredibly
well-funded gangs of fundamentalist Christian monsters who terrorize their
fellow Americans by forcing their weaponized and twisted version of
Christianity upon their helpless subordinates in our nation’s armed forces.”
Those words were recently
written by Mikey Weinstein, founder of the Military Religious Freedom
Foundation (MRFF), in a column he wrote for the Huffington Post. Weinstein will
be a consultant to the Pentagon to develop new policies on religious tolerance,
including a policy for court-martialing military chaplains who share the
Christian Gospel during spiritual counseling of American troops.
Weinstein decries what he
calls the “virulent religious oppression” perpetrated by conservative
Christians, whom he refers to as “monstrosities” and “pitiable unconstitutional
carpetbaggers,” comparing them to “bigots” in the Deep South during the civil
rights era.
But of course all of this is
just part of a larger trend.
It was recently revealed that
a U.S. Army Reserve equal opportunity training presentation included
"Evangelical Christianity" on a list of "extremist
organizations" that also included al-Qaeda, Hamas and the Ku Klux
Klan. For much more on this, please see my previous article entitled "All
Over America Evangelical Christians Are Being Labeled As ‘Extremists’ And ‘Hate
Groups’".
If the U.S. military and the
American people listen to people like Mikey Weinstein and start treating
Christians as "human
monsters" and "enemies
of the United States Constitution", what will the end result be?
The first step to persecuting
any group of people is to demonize them. That is exactly what is being
done to Christians right now.
But no matter how many laws
they try to pass, I will never stop sharing the gospel.
What about you? Will you
allow the government to stop you from sharing your faith? Please feel
