Have
you ever come away discouraged after trying to talk about prepping with friends
or family members that just dont seem to be interested? Over the years, I have
heard countless excuses from people for why they arent getting prepared for
what is about to happen to America. Some of the excuses, like a lack of money,
are definitely legitimate. But in many other instances, the objections
dont
seem to make a lot of sense. In America today, most people let others do
most of their thinking for them. And in general, our political, religious
and cultural leaders are telling Americans that there really is no reason to be
overly concerned about the future. They assure us that they have
everything under control, and that life is only going to get better in the
years ahead. Bad beliefs lead to bad decisions which in turn lead to bad
actions, and most Americans have chosen to believe what the elite are telling
them at this point. As a result, only a small fraction of society is
getting physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually prepared for the
exceedingly hard times that are rapidly approaching. The following are 53
common excuses that people like to use for not prepping

As
stocks continue to crash, you can blame the Federal Reserve, because the Fed is
more responsible for creating the current financial bubble that we are living
in than anyone else. When the Federal Reserve pushed interest rates all
the way to the floor and injected lots of hot money into the financial markets
during their quantitative easing programs, this pushed stock prices to wildly
artificial levels. The only way that it would have been possible to keep
stock prices at those wildly artificial levels would have been to keep interest
rates ultra-low and to keep recklessly creating lots of new money. But
now the Federal Reserve has ended quantitative easing and has embarked on a
program of very slowly raising interest rates. This is going to have very
severe consequences for the markets, but Janet Yellen doesnt seem to care. (Read More....)
If there is one thing that
Americans can agree on these days, it is the fact that most of us dont like the
government. CBS News has just released an article entitled Americans
hate the U.S. government more than ever, and an average of
recent surveys calculated by Real
Clear Politics found that 63 percent of all Americans believe the country
is heading in the wrong direction and only 28 percent of all Americans believe
that the country is heading in the right direction. In just a few days
the first real ballots of the 2016 election will be cast in Iowa, and up to
this point the big story of this cycle has been the rise of outsider candidates that many of
the pundits had assumed would never have a legitimate chance. Donald
Trump, Ted Cruz and Bernie Sanders have all been beneficiaries of the
overwhelming disgust that the American people feel regarding what has been
going on in Washington. (Read More....)
We have not seen global economic
activity fall off this rapidly since the great recession of 2008.
Manufacturing activity is imploding all over the planet, global trade is
slowing down at a pace that is extremely alarming, and the Baltic Dry Index just
hit another brand new all-time record
low. If the real economy consists of people making, selling and shipping
stuff, then it is in incredibly bad shape. Here in the United States, the
dismal economic numbers continue to stun all of the experts. For example,
on Monday we learned that the Texas general business activity index just hit a six year low

On January 22nd, one of the worst
east coast blizzards in history slammed into Washington D.C. like a freight
train. More than three feet of snow was dumped on some areas, hundreds of
thousands of people were left without power, and coastal cities all long the
eastern seaboard experienced flooding to a degree not seen since Hurricane
Sandy. Tens of millions of people live in communities that were
completely paralyzed by this storm, and it is being projected that the total
amount of economic damage done will ultimately be in the billions of dollars.
January 22nd also happens to be the anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court
decision that legalized abortion in all 50 states. Since that Supreme
Court decision, more than 58 million babies
have been murdered in abortion clinics in America. Could it be possible
that it is more than just a coincidence that both of these events happened on January 22nd? (Read More....)
Most
Americans expect the next great earthquake in the United States to come on the
west coast. But what if it strikes right down the middle of the country
instead? The New Madrid fault zone is six times larger than the San
Andreas fault zone in California and it covers portions of Illinois, Indiana,
Ohio, Missouri, Arkansas, Kentucky, Tennessee and Mississippi. Back in
1811 and 1812, a series of absolutely devastating earthquakes along the New
Madrid fault zone opened very deep fissures in the ground, caused the
Mississippi River to run backwards in some places, and were reportedly felt as
far away as Washington D.C. and Boston. They were the strongest
earthquakes ever recorded east of the Rocky Mountains, and scientists tell us
that it is only a matter of time before we experience similar quakes. In
fact, the U.S. Geological Survey has admitted that the New Madrid fault zone
has the potential
for larger and more powerful quakes than previously thought, and the number of
significant earthquakes in the middle part of the country has more than
quintupled in recent years. Someday, perhaps without any warning, an
absolutely massive earthquake will strike the New Madrid fault. Thousands
of Americans will die, tens of thousands of structures will be completely
destroyed, and millions of people will find themselves homeless. (Read More...)

Why
would anyone want to live in the state of California at this point? Not only
do you have to deal with unbearable traffic, insane politicians and unchecked
illegal immigration, but now the weather itself seems to be going crazy.
A very strong El Nino has been sending destructive storm after destructive
storm barreling into the west coast, and this is causing tremendous flooding,
dangerous landslides and unprecedented erosion in coastal communities all over
the state. As I mentioned the other day, a state of emergency
has just been declared in the coastal city of Pacifica due to the incredible
amount of erosion that is happening there. Now, incredible footage has been released that actually shows the
coastline crumbling. Small parts of California really are falling into
the ocean, and meteorologists are warning that the worst may be yet to come. (Read More...)

The
economic damage done by winter storm Jonas looks like it is going to be much
higher than many had originally anticipated. As you will see below, Moodys Analytics is projecting
that up to 3 billion dollars of damage has been done, and USA Today is reporting that the flooding
along the New Jersey and Delaware coasts was worse than Hurricane
Sandy in 2012″. So all of those that are mocking Jonas as just a snowstorm dont really understand what
they are talking about. Large numbers of homes, businesses and vehicles were
destroyed
especially right along the coast. This was a major disaster, and it is going to
take months of work for many of the affected areas to fully recover. (Read More...)

The
biggest bank in Norway is calling for the complete and total elimination of
cash. Many local bank branches in Norway already dont deal in cash, but that
is not good enough for DNB. They want a blanket ban on the use of cash, and
they are selling this as a way to crack down on criminals and money launderers.
But in the end, the truth is that they want to be able to force everyone in
society to use the banks and it would enable them to collect fees on almost
every transaction. It is an agenda that is being driven by greed, but it could
also open the door for great tyranny. Unfortunately, we are not just seeing
aggressive movement toward a cashless society in Norway. It is also happening
in Sweden, in Denmark and in many other nations all around
the globe. The Beast system is rising, and yet very few people out there even
seem alarmed by this. (Read More...)

If
this is how crazy people are going to become when a big snowstorm arrives, what
do you think they are going to do when a real disaster strikes? Washington D.C.
is about to be hit by one of the worst blizzards that it has ever experienced
this weekend, and people are already beginning to panic. It is being projected
that there could be up to 30 inches of snow in some areas, and wind gusts of up
to 60 miles an hour will cut visibility to almost nothing and will make travel
next to impossible. Along the east coast, more than 50 million people could be
affected by this storm, and many of them dont have a lot of food and
supplies on hand. So we have been seeing things like bread, milk and batteries
fly off of store shelves all throughout the region, and at this point many
stores are already completely wiped out. (Read More...)

The Italian financial meltdown
that we have been waiting for has finally arrived. For quite a long time I have
been warning my readers to watch Italy, and now people are starting to
understand why. Italian banking stocks continued their collapse for a fifth
consecutive day on Wednesday, and nervous Italians are beginning to quietly
pull large amounts of money out of the banks. In particular, Monte dei Paschi
is a complete and utter basket case at this point. A staggering one-third of
their loans are non-performing, and the stock price has fallen a staggering 57
percent since 2016 began. Monte dei Paschi is going to need a major bailout,
and the same thing could be said about almost all of the largest Italian banks.
But where is the money going to come from? (Read More...)

Did you know that the top 1% has
more wealth than the rest of
the planet combined? And just 62 ultra-wealthy members of the elite have as
much money as the poorest 3.5 billion people on the entire planet. These brand
new numbers come from a shocking report that was just put out by Oxfam, and they show that income
inequality continues to grow at a very rapid pace all over the world. As you
will see below, the total wealth of the poorest half of the global population
has plunged by 41 percent since 2010 while the wealth of the
elite has continued to surge upward. The debt-based financial system that now
has the entire planet in its grip funnels wealth to the very top, and the
global elite are more than happy to hoard as much of it as they possibly can. (Read More...)

You
may have noticed that things are starting to get crazy. Financial markets are imploding, violent crime rates are soaring in our major cities, and we
have witnessed a truly
unusual series of natural disasters in recent months. War in the Middle
East continues to rage out of control, and Islamic terror continues to spread
all over the globe. And many believe that 2016 is going to be a year of
political shaking, civil unrest, governmental crackdowns and great economic
chaos in the United States. All it is going to take to plunge our society into
full-blown panic mode is a major trigger event of some sort. Another 9/11, a new Lehman Brothers moment, a massive EMP
burst from the sun or a historic seismic event are all examples of what this trigger event could look like. (Read More...)

Do
you know what your threat score is? Today, more than 90 percent of all local police
departments and nearly all government agencies employ some sort of
technological surveillance. One of the most common applications is called Beware, and it scans billions
of arrest
reports, property records, commercial databases, deep Web searches and social media
postings to give authorities an idea of who they are dealing with. So the next
time that police pull up in front of your home, it is likely that what you have
posted on Facebook will be searched. If you have said things that could be
construed as anti-government or anti-police, there is a very good
chance that you will have a very high threat score and you will be on the red list. (Read More...)
An
epidemic of rape is sweeping all across Europe, and yet European politicians
seem almost completely unwilling to stand up and do something about it. In some
major European cities, women are absolutely petrified to go out by themselves especially at night.
Things have gotten so bad that some people are now making up entirely new words
to describe what is going on. Steve Quayle has labeled this crisis rapeageddon, and I think that fits. Things are particularly bad
in Germany, which has welcomed more refugees than any other European country in
recent years. If you can believe it, Germany opened the doors for 1.1
million asylum seekers last year. That is an astounding number, and it is
starting to have dramatic consequences for German society. (Read More...)
A
new video has just been released in which Pope Francis very clearly expresses
his belief that all of the major religions are different paths to the same God.
He says that while people from various global faiths may be seeking God or meeting
God in different ways that it is important to keep in mind that we are all children of
God.
This is the most recent example that shows that the Pope has completely
abandoned any notion that a relationship with God is available only through
Jesus Christ. As he has done throughout his papacy, he continues to lay the
groundwork for the coming one world religion, and yet hardly anyone seems upset
by this. (Read More...)
Why
is NASA suddenly so concerned about meteors and asteroids hitting the Earth?
After telling us that no
large object is likely to strike the Earth any time in the next several hundred
years
last year, NASA is now spending millions of dollars to set up a Planetary Defense
Coordination Office that will be headed up by a designated Planetary Defense Officer. According to NASA, more
than 13,500 near Earth objects have been found so far, and another 1,500 new
NEOs are being discovered each year. Approximately 10 percent of all near Earth
objects are one kilometer or larger in size, and if one of those giant space
rocks ever hit us, it would likely be considered an extinction level event. It makes sense that
NASA would be concerned about this threat, but why now? (Read More...)

If
you found out that one of your friends was secretly peeking in your windows at you and your
family throughout the day, would that person continue to be your friend? Of
course not. But that is exactly what Barack Obama has been doing to Israel.
According to the Wall Street Journal,
during Obamas
first term the decision was made to monitor the communications of Israeli Prime
Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other Israeli leaders. This represents an
astounding betrayal of our closest ally in the Middle East, but the scandal
doesnt
end there. In the process of monitoring Netanyahu and other Israeli leaders,
the NSA also collected private conversations that they had with members of the
U.S. Congress. So that means that Obama and the NSA were spying on Congress,
which is a very serious violation of the law. (Read More...)
In
this day and age it seems like almost everything is disposable, and many
employers have found that they can make a lot more money if they have a
workforce that can be turned on and off like a faucet. In America today, there
are more than 17 million independent workers, and they represent a
bigger share of the workforce than ever before. Federal laws give a lot of
protection to full-time workers, but for temporary and
contract employees it is a much different story. Temp workers dont get health insurance,
vacation time or retirement benefits. They are simply paid for the limited
amount of time that they are needed and then they are disposed of immediately.
There has always been a role for such workers in our economy, but these days
some of the biggest corporations in the entire country are getting rid of full-time workers and replacing them with
temp workers just so that they can make a few extra bucks. As a result, the
ranks of the working
poor
continue to expand, and the decline of the middle class is accelerating. (Read More...)
Political correctness is

on the behavior of landlords, employers and businesses, but they will
undoubtedly create a chilling effect on speech all throughout New York City. (Read More...)
It
is not normal for the United States to experience massive wildfires and giant
tornadoes right around Christmas. The huge wildfire that erupted northwest of
Los Angeles on Christmas Day and the devastating tornadoes that ripped through
the Dallas area on Saturday can be added to a growing list of freakish disasters
that have hit the United States since the month of September. So why in the
world is this happening? Many are blaming the worst El Nino pattern that we
have seen in at least 15 years. Right now we are witnessing very strange
weather all over the world, including an unprecedented heat wave in Australia
and the worst flooding in South America in 50 years. And it is true that El
Ninos have significantly disrupted weather patterns in the past. But is the
current El Nino really to blame for everything that we have been seeing?
Because without a doubt, the last few months have been truly bizarre. (Read More...)
The nightmare that is currently
unfolding up in Canada will soon be coming to the United States. When the price
of oil first started crashing, most Americans and most Canadians applauded.
Most people thought that lower gas prices would be really good for the economy.
Well, it turns out that the exact opposite
is true. Just like in the United States, the energy industry has been the
primary engine for the growth of good paying jobs in Canada since the last
recession. Up in Alberta, there was such a need for oil patch workers that even
someone that had just recently graduated from high school could find an oil patch
job that paid six figures during the boom times. Now the boom is turning into a bust, and huge numbers of
those good paying jobs are being lost. As a result, suicide, crime,
unemployment and poverty are all skyrocketing, and the mainstream media is telling
us that the worst is yet to come. (Read More...)
Pope
Francis sure does say a lot of strange things. I dont think that any other
Pope throughout history has ever called Christmas a charade or has suggested that
for many people this Christmas may be their last. What in the world would
cause Pope Francis to adopt such an ominous tone? Without a doubt, the leader
of the largest religious organization in the entire world would be privy to
information that would not be available to ordinary people like you and I. Could
it be possible that he is aware of something that is coming that is going to
dramatically change life on this planet? What we do know is that our world is
becoming increasingly unstable. World War III threatens to erupt in the Middle
East at any time, the number of terror attacks around the globe continues to increase, earthquake
activity continues to rise, giant cracks
are opening up in the ground all over the world, and we are
rapidly plunging into a brand new global
financial crisis. There is certainly a lot to be concerned about, but what
would make the Pope so glum that he would actually call Christmas a charade? (Read More...)
If
there were no presents at all, would you still want to celebrate Christmas? 100
years ago, a little seven-year-old boy named Homer Mellen sent Santa Claus a
letter asking for a box of paints, also a nine cent reader, and a
school bag to put them in. And he added that if Santa happened to have any nuts, or candy, or
toys to spare
that he would love to have some. My, how times have changed. Today, nearly all
of us expect to be showered with presents on Christmas morning, and then almost
immediately people begin posting photos of their Christmas loot on social media websites
such as Facebook. And as you will see below, the Rich Kids of Instagram have taken boasting
about wealth to an extreme that nobody has ever seen before. Our society has
become deeply, deeply materialistic, and whatever meaning Christmas once may have
had has become almost completely lost at this point. (Read More...)
Do
you ever wonder if someone might come marching into your church one Sunday
morning and start shooting? When I was growing up, I never even imagined that
some mentally-imbalanced individual or a group of Islamic terrorists would ever
attempt to attack a church service that I was attending, but times have
changed. There have been more mass shootings in America during the presidency
of Barack Obama than
under the previous four presidents combined, and the primary target of the
Islamic terrorists in San Bernardino was a Messianic Christian. The
shooters in San Bernardino could have very easily decided to hunt him down at
his place of worship instead of at a workplace Christmas party if they had
wanted to. And we all remember the horrific mass shooting that took place at a
church in South Carolina earlier this year. Our churches are very
vulnerable soft
targets,
and Christians all over America are starting to realize that security needs to

It
is going to be much more difficult for Donald Trump to win the Republican
nomination than most people think. In order to win the nomination, a candidate
must secure at least 1,237 of the 2,472 delegates that are up for grabs. But
not all of them will be won during the state-by-state series of caucuses and
primaries that will take place during the first half of 2016. Of the total of
2,472 Republican delegates, 437 of them are unpledged delegates and 168 of those are
members of the Republican National Committee. And unless you have been hiding
under a rock somewhere, you already know that the Republican National Committee
is not a fan of Donald Trump. In order to win the Republican nomination without
any of the unpledged delegates, Trump would need to win 60.78 percent of the
delegates that are up for grabs during the caucuses and primaries. And
considering that his poll support is hovering
around 30 percent right now, that is a very tall order. (Read More...)
Once upon a time, middle class

has dropped to just 43 percent. This is just one of the absolutely astounding
statistics that you will read about in this article. Over the years, the middle
class in America has been in steady decline. Our incomes have been going down,
our net worth has been going down, the quality of our jobs has been going down,
and yet the cost of living just keeps going up. As a result of all of these
factors, more Americans are living in poverty today than ever before, and
dependence on the government has exploded to unprecedented levels. (Read More...)
Is
the return of Jesus Christ getting closer? According to a survey conducted by
the Brookings Institutes Center for Middle East Policy entitled American
Attitudes Toward The Middle East And Israel, 79 percent of all
evangelical Christians in America believe that the unfolding violence
across the Middle East is a sign that the end times are nearer. In addition, the survey
also discovered that evangelical Christians are also far more likely to be
pro-Israel than the population as a whole, and most of them believe that Israel
will control more territory than it currently possesses before Jesus comes
back. Many secular Americans may find this
strange, but evangelical Christians really do view everything that is going on
in the Middle East through the lens of Bible prophecy. The vast majority of
evangelicals truly believe that Jesus is actually coming back to our world, and
most of them are fully convinced that Israel is going to play a leading role in
the events of the last days. (Read More...)
Do we need any more evidence
before we will finally admit that the middle class in America is being
systematically destroyed? As you will see below, when you add together all of
the wealth of the poorest 152 million Americans, it still falls short of the
combined net worth of the 20 wealthiest Americans. This is a list that includes
Bill Gates, Warren Buffett and Mark Zuckerberg. To many, the core of the
problem is that people like Gates and Buffett are making too much money. But I
disagree. There is nothing wrong with working hard, building a company and
making lots of money. The real problem is the fact that the bottom half of the
country is steadily getting poorer. Once upon a time, this nation had the
healthiest and most vibrant middle class in the history of the world, but now
that middle class is dying. If we dont do something about this, soon we may not have much
of a middle class left. (Read More...)
Why
is the mainstream media ignoring evidence that the primary reason why Sayed
Farook and his wife went on a deadly shooting spree in San Bernardino,
California was because Farook wanted to get revenge on a pro-Israel Messianic
Jewish Christian co-worker? 52-year-old Nicholas Thalasinos had worked alongside
Farook as an inspector for an extended period of time, and it is being reported
that they would often have discussions about religion and politics. As you will

or not, Farook had reportedly made threats to kill Thalasinos, and Farook had
was quite insistent that Islam would someday rule the world. (Read More...)
Random
Islamic terror attacks are now going to be part of every day life in America.
Once upon a time, those of us that warned that Islamic terrorists were already
in this country were branded alarmists, but not anymore. When Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez gunned down four U.S.
Marines at a Navy and Marine reserve center in Chattanooga, Tennessee
earlier this year, that was just a very small preview of what is coming. On
Wednesday, a married couple named Syed Farook and Tashfeen Malik fired at least
65 shots at a holiday office party in San Bernardino, California. 14 people
were killed and 21 were wounded. Later on, hundreds of shots were exchanged as
police officers pursued the vehicle that Farook and Malik were attempting to
escape in. Fortunately, Farook and Malik are no longer a threat to any of us,
but there are thousands more radicals just like them that are already living in
this country and that are ready to act at any time. (Read More...)
How
is Barack Obama going to get out of this one? On Tuesday, the Russian military
produced an impressive array of evidence that clearly shows that ISIS oil is
being smuggled into Turkey on an industrial scale. The evidence included
photographs taken by satellite and during aerial reconnaissance missions. What
the Russians have shown the world is extremely compelling, and it raises some
very disturbing questions. First of all, how involved is the Turkish government
in all of this? There is no way in the world that an endless
parade of trucks carrying ISIS oil could have marched through Turkish
border checkpoints without the cooperation of the central government. Secondly,
what did Obama know and when did he know it? The U.S. military has far better
surveillance capabilities than the Russians do, and so it seems absolutely
absurd to suggest that Obama didnt know what was going on. (Read More...)
If Saudi Arabia wont take in Syrian
refugees, why should the United States? In recent weeks, we have heard a
whole lot from Barack Obama about our moral obligation to take in refugees from Syria. Well, if there
is a moral
obligation
to help these refugees, then why arent more wealthy Islamic nations stepping up to the
plate? According to Amnesty International, since the beginning of the
Syrian civil war Saudi Arabia has not accepted a single Syrian refugee.
Neither has Kuwait. Neither has Qatar. Neither has the United Arab
Emirates. These nations are absolutely swimming in money, and yet they
have slammed the door on these desperately needy Islamic refugees. So
what precisely does that tell us? (Read More...)
At
this point, is there anyone that still doesnt know that ISIS is
selling hundreds of millions of dollars of
stolen oil in Turkey? As you will see below, this is very much an open
secret, but the mainstream media in the United States is being strangely silent
about this. Why? Well, because if the truth came out Turkey would
have to be kicked out of NATO and Barack Obama would probably be facing
impeachment proceedings. He claims to be fighting ISIS, and yet an
endless parade of trucks carrying oil that ISIS has stolen goes back and forth
over the Turkish border with his full knowledge and approval. Barack
Obama is very much aware that Turkey is buying oil from ISIS and he refuses to
do anything about it. If the Republicans are looking for a scandal which
could completely wreck Obamas presidency and essentially secure the 2016 election
for them, this is it. (Read More...)
The
city of Chicago has released a video that
shows a white police officer shooting a 17-year-old African-American young man
named Laquan McDonald 16 times. Cook County States Attorney Anita Alvarez
says that this video is graphic, violent and chilling, and it is expected to provoke a very strong
emotional reaction from Chicagos very large African-American community. Over
the past few years, Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown and Freddie Gray have all
become household names because of the way that they died, and now it looks like
Laquan McDonalds name will be added to that list. But the
situation in Chicago is potentially even more volatile what we witnessed in
either Ferguson or Baltimore. More than a million African-Americans live
in the Chicago metropolitan area, and the crime rate in the city has already
been skyrocketing. In fact, it is being projected that Chicagos murder rate will
increase by 20 percent in 2015. This is
a city that is always living on the edge of chaos, and now the video of Laquan
McDonalds
death could be the spark that sets Chicago ablaze. (Read More...)
If we truly do want to get rid of ISIS, why arent we doing anything about
the Islamic governments that are funding them, aiding them and facilitating the
sale of their oil? As you will see below, ISIS fighters hop back and
forth over the Turkish border with impunity, there are direct dealings between
Turkish officials and ranking ISIS members, and more than $800,000,000 worth of ISIS oil has
been sold in Turkey. If these things are true, action must be
taken. According to a recent Rasmussen Reports survey, 92
percent of Americans consider Islamic terrorism to be a serious threat to the
United States, and a Washington Post-ABC
News survey found that 83 percent of registered voters believe that a
terror attack that causes a large amount of casualties inside the United States
is likely in the near future. The American people clearly want ISIS to be
dealt with, so why isnt the Obama administration doing anything to go after
the state sponsors of such terror? (Read More...)
Never before have so many acres
burned in America up to this point in the year. I just went and checked
the latest numbers from the
National Interagency Fire Center, and it turns out that we are now on pace
for the worst year for wildfires in all of U.S. history.
So far in 2015, wildfires have burned an astounding 9,799,866 acres.
Before this, the worst year for wildfires was in 2006 when a total of 9,506,582
acres had burned through November 13th. When I last reported on this, we
were still behind 2006s record pace, but now we have surged ahead of
it. Overall, the average for the last 10 years for the number of acres
burned in the U.S. through November 13th is 6,464,947, and so we are more
than 50 percent ahead of that pace right now. Clearly, what we
have been experiencing is highly unusual. Could it be possible that this
is some form of judgment on America? (Read More...)
A soccer game between the national
teams of Germany and the Netherlands was canceled due to terror concerns on
Tuesday, but this is only just the beginning. From now on, very few
people will be able to attend large gatherings in the western world without
thinking about the possibility that they might be shot or blown to bits.
This is how terrorism works it instills fear in people. And that is why
the recent attacks in Paris were so effective. By striking random targets
such as a rock concert, a precedent has been set that an attack can happen
anywhere and at any time. The target does not have to be politically
significant or related to the war on terror in any way. Just a few of
these random attacks would be enough to cause mass paranoia among the hundreds
of millions of people that live in Europe and North America, and now that
radical Islamists are starting to understand this, all hell is breaking loose. (Read More...)
Something
strange is happening to our planet. Over the past 30 days, there seems to
have been much more shaking than normal, and this is particularly true along the Ring of Fire.
This afternoon I visited the official website
of the U.S. Geological Survey, and I discovered that Chile had been hit
with 12 major earthquakes within the last 24 hours alone. The smallest
was of magnitude 4.4, and the two largest both measured magnitude 6.9. We
have also seen dozens of volcanoes erupt
recently, including the incredibly dangerous Mt. Popocatepetl in Mexico. Fortunately we
have not seen a major disaster that kills thousands of people yet, but many
believe that all of this shaking is leading up to one. In addition, the
weather all over the world continues to get freakier and freakier. Just
today, Yemen was hit by a second major tropical cyclone in less than a week. Any
one of these strange disasters in isolation may not seem like that big of a
deal, but when you start putting all of the pieces together it starts to become
clear that something really significant is taking place. (Read More...)
How
can we possibly be so miserably unhappy? For a nation that supposedly has it all, we sure are
depressed. In America today, suicide rates are soaring, antidepressant
use is skyrocketing and virtually every new survey that comes out shows that we
are deeply dissatisfied about something. But we live at a time when there
are more things to enjoy than ever before. When I was growing up there
was only a handful of television channels to choose from, but now there are
hundreds. We have more movies than we could ever possibly watch, more
books than we could ever possibly read, and the greatest video games ever made
are at our fingertips. With all of the entertainment that surrounds us,
you would think that Americans would be happier than ever before, and yet we
continue to become even more depressed. Everywhere I go, I see people
that look like they have had the life completely sucked out of them. So
why is this happening? The following are 21 signs that Americans are the
unhappiest people in the entire world

All
over America, the middle class is dying and poverty is on the rise. One of the
primary reasons for this is the rapidly rising cost of living in the United
States. The cost of just about everything that average families shell out
money for on a regular basis food, rent, health insurance, etc. is rising much faster
than wages are. In a previous article I noted that the federal poverty
level for a family of five is $28,410, but 51 percent of all American workers are making less than $30,000 a year at
this point. We have seen an explosion in the number of people in this
country that are considered to be the working poor and it gets worse with each passing year. (Read More...)
Was
the U.S. government trying to send a message to someone on Saturday
night? Just after sunset, an unarmed Trident II nuclear missile was fired
from a ballistic missile submarine just off the coast of southern California
that was later identified as the USS Kentucky. It was the absolutely
perfect time to attract the attention of millions of people living in the Los
Angeles area. If it had been fired during the day, the missile would have
been far less visible. If it had been fired in the middle of the night,
most residents of southern California would have been asleep. Those that
planned the firing of this nuclear missile knew that it would be seen by
hundreds of thousands of people and that it would make headlines all over the
planet. So why was this done? (Read More...)
Christianity is under attack from
a thousand different directions all at once, and yet many believers have turned
their guns on one another. This war among Christians seems to intensify
with each passing year, and believers are often fighting for some of the
stupidest reasons you can possibly imagine. Meanwhile, people are leaving
our churches in droves and church attendance is way down. This is
especially true of younger Americans. According to an incredible new
report that was just released by the Pew Research Center,
only 27 percent of all Millennials (U.S. adults born since 1990) attend
religious services on a weekly basis. When you go into many churches in
America on Sunday mornings, all you see are the greys, and I am not talking
about space aliens. But instead of focusing on fixing what has gone
wrong, many Christians (including a number of very prominent ministers) spend
most of their energy savagely attacking their brothers and sisters in
Christ. This is absolutely disgraceful and it needs to stop. (Read More...)
If you have a health problem, even
if it is just an imaginary one, some giant pharmaceutical company out there is
probably making a pill for it. According to shocking new research published
in the Journal of the American Medical Association, 59 percent of all U.S.
adults are on at least one prescription drug, and 15 percent of all U.S. adults
are on at least five prescription drugs. These numbers
have never been higher, and they tell us that the United States is the most
drugged nation on the entire planet. And it turns out that pushing these
drugs on the American people is extremely profitable. For instance,
Americans spent 100 billion dollars on cancer drugs alone last
year. That isnt million with an m that is billion with a b. The profits that some of these pharmaceutical
companies are making are absolutely obscene, and it is our pain and suffering
that is making them rich. (Read More...)
We
are about three weeks into 2016, and we are witnessing things that we have
never seen before. There were two emergency market shutdowns in China
within the first four trading days of this year, the Dow Jones Industrial
Average has never lost this many points within the first three weeks, and just
yesterday we learned that global stocks had officially entered bear market territory. Overall, more
than 15 trillion dollars of global
stock market wealth has been wiped out since last June. And of course the
markets are simply playing catch up with global economic reality. The
Baltic Dry Index just hit another new all-time
record low today, Wal-Mart has announced that they are shutting down 269 stores, and initial jobless claims in the U.S. just
surged to their highest level in six months. So if things are this bad
already, what will the rest of 2016 bring? (Read More....)
Its official global stocks have
entered a bear market. On Wednesday, we learned that the MSCI All-Country
World Index has fallen a total of more than 20 percent from the peak of the
market. So that means that roughly one-fifth of all the stock market
wealth in the entire world has already been wiped out. How much more is
it going to take before everyone will finally admit that we have a major
financial crisis on our hands? 30 percent? 40 percent? This
new round of chaos began last night in Asia. Japanese stocks were down
more than 600 points and Hong Kong was down more than 700 points. The
nightmare continued to roll on when Europe opened, and European stocks ended up
down about 3.2 percent when the markets over there finally closed. In the
U.S., it looked like it was going to be a truly historic day for a while
there. At one point the Dow had fallen 566 points, but a curious rebound
resulted in a loss of only 249 points for the day. (Read More....)
Something
has just happened that has signaled a recession every single time that it has
occurred since World War I. 16 times since 1919 there have been at least
8 month-over-month declines in industrial production during the preceding 12
month period, and in each of those 16 instances the U.S. economy has plunged
into recession. Now that it has happened again, will the U.S. economy
beat the odds and avoid a major economic downturn? I certainly wouldnt count on it. As I
have written about repeatedly, there are a whole host of other numbers that
are screaming that a new recession is here, and global financial markets are crumbling. It would take a miracle of epic
proportions to pull us out of this tailspin, and yet there are many people out
there that are absolutely convinced that it will happen. (Read More....)
Just
within the past few days, three major high yield funds have completely
imploded, and panic is spreading rapidly on Wall Street. Funds run by
Third Avenue Management and Stone Lion Capital Partners have suspended payments
to investors, and a fund run by Lucidus Capital Partners has liquidated its
entire portfolio. We are witnessing a race for the exits unlike anything
that we have seen since the great financial crash of 2008, and many of those
that choose to hesitate are going to end up getting totally wiped out. In
case you are wondering, this is what a financial crisis looks like. In
2008, other global stock markets started to tumble, then junk bonds began to crash, and finally U.S. stocks
followed. The exact same pattern is playing out again, and the carnage
that we have seen so far is just the tip of the iceberg. (Read More....)
