Why
hasnt
the U.S. bombed the oil wells that ISIS controls into oblivion by now?
Would you believe that it is because the Obama administration didnt want to do
environmental damage? Former Deputy Director of the CIA Michael
Morell has publicly admitted that we have purposely avoided damaging the main
source of income for ISIS, and his explanation for why we were doing this is
utterly bizarre. But at this point what could the Obama administration
say that would actually make sense? Everyone now knows that ISIS has been
making hundreds of millions of
dollars selling oil in Turkey, and that this has been done with
the full knowledge and complicity of the Obama White House. This is
potentially the biggest scandal of the entire Obama presidency, and yet so far
the Republicans have not jumped on it. (Read More....)
World
War III Draws Closer As Russia Accuses Turkey Of Being Secret Allies With ISIS
Are
Russia and Turkey on the verge of going to war? In remarks that were
almost entirely ignored by the western media, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey
Lavrov accused the Turkish government of being secret
allies
with ISIS on Friday. And on Monday, the Russians announced that they
would be attempting to seal the border between Syria and Turkey, and we also
learned that the Russians have been rushing heavy artillery units into
Syria. As tensions between Russia and Turkey continue to escalate, could we be in danger of
seeing World War III erupt in the Middle East? (Read More....)
Once upon a time, Black Friday was a major event in the
United States. Yes, the mainstream media is still endlessly hyping it up,
and major retailers are still rolling out their incredible deals, but it appears that
most Americans are tiring of this particular gimmick. Or perhaps it is
just that U.S. consumers dont have as much discretionary
income as they once did. As you will see below, retail traffic this
Black Friday was much, much slower than anticipated.
And expectations were not great anyway the number of shoppers was down last year, and it
was being projected that there would be another decline in 2015. Yes,
there were still a few fights on Black Friday, but
mostly the holiday was marked by giant
piles of unsold merchandise sitting around collecting dust. The inventory
to sales ratio in the U.S. has surged to levels not seen since the
last recession, and so the truth is that most retailers were hoping for
much more contrived chaos on Black Friday than we actually witnessed. (Read More....)
Has
there ever been a major holiday more focused on materialism than the modern
American Christmas? This year, Americans are planning to spend an average
of 830 dollars on Christmas gifts, which represents a jump of 110 dollars over
the average of 720 dollars last year. But have our incomes gone up
accordingly? Of course not. In fact, real median household income
in the United States has been experiencing a steady long-term decline. So
in order to fund all of our Christmas spending, we have got to go into even
more debt. We love to pull out our credit cards and spend money that we
do not have on lots of cheap, useless stuff made on the other side of the world
by workers making slave labor wages. We do the same thing year after
year, and most of us have grown accustomed to the endless cycle of growing
debt. In fact, one Pew survey found that approximately 70 percent
of all Americans believe that debt is a necessity in their lives. But then we have
to work our fingers to the bone to try to make the payments on all of that
debt, not realizing that debt systematically impoverishes us. It may be
hard to believe, but if you have a single dollar in your pocket and no debt,
you have a greater net worth than 25 percent of all Americans. I
know that sounds crazy, but it is true. (Read More....)
The
7th largest economy on the entire planet, Brazil, has been gripped by a
horrifying recession, as has much of the rest of South America. But it
isnt
just South America that is experiencing a very serious economic downturn.
We have just learned that Japan (the third largest economy in the world) has lapsed into recession.
So has Canada. So has Russia. The
dominoes are starting to fall, and it looks like the global economic crisis
that has already started is going to accelerate as we head into the end of the
year. At this point, global trade is already down about 8.4 percent for the year, and last week the
Baltic Dry Shipping Index plummeted to a brand new all-time record low.
Unfortunately for all of us, the Federal Reserve is about to do something that
will make this global economic slowdown even worse. (Read More....)
I
was absolutely stunned to learn that the Baltic Dry Shipping Index had
plummeted to a new all-time record low of 504 at one point on Thursday. I
have written a number of articles lately about the dramatic slowdown in global
trade, but I didnt realize that things had gotten quite this bad
already. Not even during the darkest moments of the last financial crisis
did the Baltic Dry Shipping Index drop this low. Something doesnt seem to be adding up,
because the mainstream media keeps telling us that the global economy is doing
just fine. In fact, the Federal Reserve is so confident in our economic recovery that they are getting
ready to raise interest rates. Of course the truth is that there is no economic recovery on the horizon. In
fact, as I wrote about yesterday, there are signs all around us that are
indicating that we are heading directly into another major economic
crisis. This staggering decline of the Baltic Dry Shipping Index is just
another confirmation of what is directly ahead of us. (Read More....)
If
the U.S. economy really is in great shape, then why do all of the numbers keep telling us that
we are in a recession? The manufacturing numbers say that we are in a
recession, the trade numbers say that we are in a recession, and as
you will see below the retail numbers say that we are in a recession. But
just like in 2008, the Federal Reserve and our top politicians will continue to
deny that a major economic downturn is happening for as long as they possibly
can. In this article, I want to look at more signs that a dramatic shift
is happening in our economy right now. (Read More....)
Charlie
Sheens
announcement that he is HIV positive has created a huge uproar as critics
attack him from every direction, but the truth is that Charlie Sheen is simply
a reflection of our society as a whole. You see, the truth is that it isnt just big Hollywood
stars that are engaged in insanely risky sexual behavior. According to
the CDC, there are 110 million cases of
sexually-transmitted disease in America today, and another 20 million STD cases are added to that
total every year. The United States has the highest STD infection rate in the entire
industrialized world, and more than half of all Americans will have a
sexually-transmitted disease at some point during their lives.
Approximately one out of every four teen
girls in the U.S. has at least one sexually transmitted disease, and our nation
spends $16,000,000,000 a year treating STDs. So go ahead and point a
finger at Charlie Sheen if you want, but just remember that he is only a very
small part of a raging national epidemic. (Read More....)
How can
we possibly be so miserably unhappy? For a nation that supposedly has it all, we sure are
depressed. In America today, suicide rates are soaring, antidepressant
use is skyrocketing and virtually every new survey that comes out shows that we
are deeply dissatisfied about something. But we live at a time when there
are more things to enjoy than ever before. When I was growing up there
was only a handful of television channels to choose from, but now there are
hundreds. We have more movies than we could ever possibly watch, more
books than we could ever possibly read, and the greatest video games ever made
are at our fingertips. With all of the entertainment that surrounds us,
you would think that Americans would be happier than ever before, and yet we
continue to become even more depressed. Everywhere I go, I see people
that look like they have had the life completely sucked out of them. So
why is this happening? The following are 21 signs that Americans are the
unhappiest people in the entire world

All over
America, the middle class is dying and poverty is on the rise. One of the
primary reasons for this is the rapidly rising cost of living in the United
States. The cost of just about everything that average families shell out
money for on a regular basis food, rent, health insurance, etc. is rising much faster
than wages are. In a previous article I noted that the federal poverty
level for a family of five is $28,410, but 51 percent of all American workers are making less than $30,000 a year at
this point. We have seen an explosion in the number of people in this
country that are considered to be the working poor and it gets worse with each passing year. (Read More...)
